To Dad on Your Day

To Dad On Your Day
by
John T. Jones

Eyes that do not see,
Ears that do not hear,
Though you are long dead,
I know that you are near.

With Mother, you lie in peace,
Nature above your graves.
But you will be freed from earth’s strong grip
In these Latter-days.

Then again we will rejoice,
And live a better life.
We will forget the hard times
And all earth’s usual strife.

But for now I give thanks
To that Great God Alive
Who gave us a father, You,
Who blessed us in our lives.
