It is said that a Stanford University Professor gave a student a score of -63 on an examination. The student asked how he could get a negative grade. The professor said that it was for a display of unnecessary ignorance.
It pays to think things out. We are always in a hurry these days and there’s little time for thinking. On impulse, we buy things that we don’t need. This occurs almost daily as we go shopping, tossing this and that into our shopping cart.
We are subject to television, that brainless wonder. It continues to place suggestions into our heads to buy this or that or do this or that. We follow these suggestions almost subconsciously. The fact of the matter is that we are continually given subliminal suggestions by the media, suggestions that we don’t even know are there.
Meditation is something that is popular with mystics but not with us common folks. Perhaps we need to meditate a bit on our lives about what is going on so that we are better prepared to make decisions. We can decide what to do before an occasion arises that causes us to do something stupid.
