Thought for the Day: Presidential Power

The government is so out of control. It is so bloated and infested with fraud and deceit and corruption and abuse of power. Ted Nugent (thanks to brainyquote.com)

What I fear most is power with impunity. I fear abuse of power, and the power to abuse. Isabel Allende (thanks to brainyquote.com)

ClownIn the United States we have three branches of government, the Executive, the Congressional and the Judicial. We interpret this to mean that they should be watching each other. I would rather see them helping each other instead of fighting and scrapping and causing trouble.

House Republican stopped an immigration bill two years ago. Now the president is taking action to modify the immigration laws. He said he will do so, and has the right to do so, until the Congress passes a law. He is going to the people with his changes explaining that we are a country full of immigrants, always have been, and always will be. Immigrant families are being torn apart, one woman in Arizona being separated from her children is an example, something that happens far too often.

Children born in the United States or to United States citizens in the anywhere in the world are citizens of the United States. Immigrants are not. The president wants to give workers permits to immigrants to work in the United States for several years. The Speaker of the House and the Senate majority Leader are bellowing in their usual belligerent style about the President taking the bull by the horns and making changes himself. They threaten to shut down the government again.

The House is even suing the President for changes he made in Obamacare. If the president is doing wrong, then the Congress should go about impeaching him. If they don’t like his changes, then they need to pass laws for him to follow. Whoever heard of this suing crap? Is that a new government procedure?

Try working together, Idiots!
