Thought for the Day October 23, 2014 Curiosity

Curiosity 1

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. Albert Einstein (thanks to brainyquote.com)

My favourite words are possibilities, opportunities and curiosity. I think if you are curious, you create opportunities, and then if you open the doors, you create possibilities. Mario Testino (thanks to brainyquote.com)

I think, at a child’s birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity. Eleanor Roosevelt (thanks to brainyquote.com) Note: I met Eleanor Roosevelt years ago at the University of Utah. I was on the stage with her because all the seats were taken. She was an amazing woman. I also went to their home on the Maine / Canadian border where they spent summers.

catThere is an old saying that Curiosity killed the cat. Occasionally someone suffers from his curiosity. It can be like a wild tiger. If you think you can go up and pet it, you are wrong. It will bite your hand off and then some.

But curiosity is the catalyst for all science and other forms of investigation. Birds fly. Men wonder if we can fly.

Little children are full of curiosity. They get into everything. We have to hide dangerous household chemicals from them. But that is how they learn. That is how we learn.

Don’t ever lose your curiosity. It is a precious gem.
