I’m nuts and I know it. But so long as I make ’em laugh, they ain’t going to lock me up. Red Skelton (thanks to brainyquote.com)
Exercise? I get it on the golf course. When I see my friends collapse, I run for the paramedics. Red Skelton (thanks to brainyquote.com)
Richard Bernard Red Skelton (July 18, 1913 – September 17, 1997) entertained us for decades. I loved him on the radio when I was a kid, especially when he was Clem Kadiddlehopper or cowboy Dead Eye. When he made movies, we scrounged up a quarter and set in the theater all day watcing 20 cartoons and one of his movies.
On TV, Red Skelton was Freddie the Freeloader, as always a clown.
Skelton was an artist. In 1964, his wife Georgia organized a showing of his art in Las Vegas at the Sands. His paintings and lihtographs earned him a quarter of a million dollars a year and his dealer said he believed that Skelton made more money as an artists than an actor. I think of Red Skelton often. One man said that if it were not for Skelton videos, he would never have got through the suffering he had during illness.
He made us all laugh and I miss him dearly.
