Stress makes us prone to tunnel vision, less likely to take in the information we need. Anxiety makes us more risk-averse than we would be regularly and more deferential. Noreena Hertz (thanks to brainyquote.com)
Every tomorrow has two handles. We can take hold of it with the handle of anxiety or the handle of faith. Henry Ward Beecher (thanks to brainyquote.com)
All intelligent creatures face anxiety at one time or another. Anxiety frequently leads to action. For example if a mother bear thinks her cubs are threatened, she will send the cubs up a tree and attack what ever is threatening them. If the cheetah loses a cub, she will suffer the great loss and show it openly.
So anxiety is viable in some ways. However it can lead to long decisions because it is not a time of deep thought but of impulsive action. In fact, anxiety can completely dominate us, lasting for days, weeks, months or even years. Sometimes we require medical solutions. Sometimes it leads to disaster.
